Following the success of the North East Accountancy Awards, Echo launched the Northern Law Awards in June 2015. This was an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of those who work in and around the legal sector in the North of England. Now in its seventh year, the event has continued to go from strength to strength and is now an established and respected event in the legal calendar.
Nominations are launched in January and we’ve received some fantastic submissions from firms, individuals and businesses across the North East.The categories cover a number of areas offering a range of opportunities from Lawyer of the Year to Outstanding Achievement, each category is judged by experts in that field at the judging day which takes place in May.
The awards evening has been hosted by Alfie Joey from BBC Radio Newcastle for the last seven years and have taken place in a prestigious North East venues including the Crowne Plaza and the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead. The 2023 awards attracted around 300 professionals from across the region and included nominations from Swinburne Maddison LLP, Irwin Mitchell LLP, Mincoffs, Sintons, Eversheds Sutherland (Int) LLP and many more.
