About:
The British Association of Critical Care Nurses (BACCN) Annual Conference 2024, themed “Building Environments to Thrive,” was held in Aberdeen, Scotland. The event attracted a diverse group of critical care professionals, focusing on fostering inclusive and supportive workplaces.

The conference commenced with a keynote address by Professor Aisha Holloway, Director of Nursing Now Challenge, titled “Just What the Nurse Ordered,” emphasizing the collective power of the nursing voice. Subsequent sessions covered topics such as delivering healthcare in conflict zones, staff movement and patient safety, and innovative communication tools for non-English speaking patients

Interactive workshops, including those on tracheostomy management, provided hands-on learning experiences. The conference also featured poster presentations, offering attendees the opportunity to showcase their research and initiatives.

The social program included a Scottish-themed conference dinner featuring a ceilidh band, fostering networking and camaraderie among delegates. The BACCN Annual Conference 2024 successfully highlighted the importance of diversity and inclusion in critical care, inspiring attendees to implement positive changes within their units.
