The British Association of Public Safety Communications Officials (BAPCO) Annual Conference 2023 brought together professionals from across the public safety and communications sectors to explore developments in technology, innovation, and operational practice. The event celebrated 30 years of British APCO and provided an opportunity for delegates to engage with cutting-edge solutions, share knowledge, and network with industry peers.
The programme featured keynote presentations, panel discussions, workshops, and an exhibition showcasing leading suppliers in public safety communications. Highlights included the launch of the 2024 Ian Thompson Bursary, discussions on the future of 999 Apps, and sessions covering TETRA, 5G, cyber security, and sustainable technology for emergency services. Delegates also participated in the NG999 workshop, MAIT roundtable discussions, and sessions on resilience and innovation within public safety communications.
Social and networking opportunities included a drinks reception in the exhibition area and the BAPCO Social in the iconic Shearer’s Bar, providing delegates with time to connect in a more informal setting.
