The British Association of Critical Care Nurses, is a professional association dedicated to the advancement of critical care nursing in the UK. The conference serves as a platform for critical care nurses and other healthcare professionals to come together, share knowledge, discuss current issues, and learn about the latest advancements in critical care nursing.
The British Association of Critical Care Nurses (BACCN) Annual Conference 2025, themed “Celebrating 40 years of Advocating for Critical Care Nursing: Adapting to Changing Landscape”, took place in Blackpool, UK.
The conference opened with a Welcome to BACCN 2025 introduction delivered by Karin Gerber, BACCN Conference Director and Ian Naldrett, BACCN Chair. Presenting Across the programme, sessions covering topics such as Artificial Intelligence in Critical Care, A More Sustainable Critical Care, and Patient Safety, reflecting current priorities within critical care.
Interactive workshops, offered practical and hands-on learning experiences. The event will also feature poster presentations, giving delegates the opportunity to highlight their research, improvement projects, and innovative practices.
The social programme Included a Strictly Come Dancing themed conference dinner, featuring professional ballroom dancers. The BACCN Annual Conference aims to champion inclusivity, resilience and professional development across critical care, inspiring attendees to drive positive change within their units.
