Current Roles
Events Manager – Part Time – 3 days a week (Posted 20/08/2024)
Echo have an exciting opportunity for an Event Manager to join the events team working across Echo’s portfolio of events, which range from awards ceremonies to meetings and multi-day national academic conferences. Applicants should ideally have proven experience in a similar role
This position requires a very capable multitasker with strong organisation skills and a flexible work ethic. This is a senior client facing role where the applicant will have sole responsibility for their own events, including:
- Budget management
- Programme development
- Marketing – email campaigns / social media / press releases
- Client liaison
- Venue and supplier sourcing and liaison
- Full event logistics
- Producing conference materials – event guides etc
- Website management and updates
- Speaker management – travel booking, expenses etc
- Managing the registration/booking system and reporting
- Managing abstract systems and reporting
- Onsite management
- Post event analysis
Basic design skills would be beneficial.
The awards attract around 400 attendees and include drink receptions, entertainment, three course dinner, and charity collections. Each event has a judging day which is attended by all the finalists. Every nominee is judged by a panel of three.
Conferences range from 100 – 600 delegates, multiple days, social programmes, 50+ exhibitors, abstract management, national locations and complex multi streamed programmes.
Skills and attributes
We’re looking for a confident individual with strong communication skills. Applicants must have a positive working attitude, be personable and approachable with excellent customer service skills. Being able to prioritise and manage your own workload is key to the role. This is a pivotal role in the company and the successful candidate must be able to work well in a team and give direction when required.
Reporting directly to the Directors the role will be supported by an event co-ordinator and sales manager.
